Why Lycospora dominated many Pennsylvanian spore assemblages

چکیده

The microspore genus Lycospora in its wider sense is produced by both heterosporous cones, Flemingites, and homosporous cones Lepidostrobus. Calculations are made of the number microspores that then individual Pennsylvannian arborescent lycophytes. distribution rooting rhizohores, Stigmaria can be extrapolated to a square kilometre forest. A calculation spores such forest enormous which explains why some dispersed spore floras dominated these spores. There assemblages prepared from coal with high percentages Lycospora. However, methods preparation counting do not give enough information make meaningful their total numbers samples.

Why So Many Nodes?

This paper provides an analysis of the representation of various grammatical phenomena in both constituency structure and dependency structure (hereafter c-structure and d-structure), including agreement, case marking, and word order in transitive sentences, as well as three theoretical constructs, and the interface between the form of a sentence and its meaning. There is a crucial structural r...

Why many concepts are metaphorical.

The study of concepts in psychology has historically had little to say about the possible influence of metaphor on mental representation. This silence is not terribly surprising given the long-standing view that metaphor is an ornamental, even deviant, form of language bearing no relation to how people actually conceptualize of objects, individuals, events, and abstract ideas. Why so many sperm cells?

A key limiting step in fertility is the search for the oocyte by spermatozoa. Initially, there are tens of millions of sperm cells, but a single one will make it to the oocyte. This may be one of the most severe selection processes designed by evolution, whose role is yet to be understood. Why such a huge redundancy is required and what does that mean for the search process? we discuss here the...

So Many Plasminogen Receptors: Why?

Plasminogen and plasmin tether to cell surfaces through ubiquitously expressed and structurally quite dissimilar family of proteins, as well as some nonproteins, that are collectively referred to as plasminogen receptors. Of the more than one dozen plasminogen receptors that have been identified, many have been shown to facilitate plasminogen activation to plasmin and to protect bound plasmin f...

Why many firms run into crises, and why some survive

Many firms run into crises that threaten their existence. These crises result partly from properties of the firms themselves and partly from properties of the firms' environments. The crises arise and grow stronger partly because top managers hold incorrect beliefs. To make crises rarer, top managers should listen to dissenters and to forthright subordinates, convert happenstance events into le...
